GTA's Mad World

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a worldwide known video game, and it is one of the best in its kind. It has to do with stealing, killing, and causing great destruction and damage within a city. Many of the people I know, including myself play this game. The thing lies in that we all know it is just a game. There are people outside our little bubble that think there is more to it than just a game. There are people who unfortunately are not sane and take this game into the real life. They let this game control their mind, and they believe that their life is the actual game and they are the main player. There have been many incidents regarding this game in Brazil and in the USA. In the USA one person played this game so much that he went to a barbecue in his neighborhood and started killing people, just the same way he had done in a previous mission in the game. That isn't the only incident regarding this game. In Brazil there was guy who played GTA for 37 hours straight, with no breaks for sleeping or for eating. By playing so long the game got sort of "injected" in his brain and as soon as he left his house, he went to weapon's shop to buy a gun and started to kill everyone and rob cars around the city. He got arrested and the selling of this game was prohibited in all of Brazil.
With these kind of incidents one can notice that videogames control minds, specially the youngster's ones, because they believe that videogames is everything there is in the world. With this one can realize that videogames actually do inspire violence, and it is no joke when parents tell their kids to stop playing because if not they will be violence maniacs.

  1. I disagree with your point. I believe that videogames don't have the power to change an individual. If one decides to murder people after playing a violent game, it is not the game's fault, it just means that you are insane. Millions of people play game's like GTA, and only a minuscule fraction of these turn out to commit murders such as these.
